JEDDAH: Projects aimed at creating and supporting jobs in Yemen were on Tuesday launched by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief).
The labor-intensive schemes for the Tarim area of Wadi Hadhramaut, will also target improving the infrastructure of the region.
The latest initiatives will provide short-term employment opportunities, and training for unskilled workers. Heads of households will also be given assistance to improve family living conditions.
Through its work to support the livelihoods of Yemenis, KSRelief hopes to help 3,750 people and more than 18,750 indirectly.
A KSRelief team also visited farmers in Qalaat Al-Madiq, a town in the Hama governorate of Syria, to give instructions on the use of agricultural pesticides recently delivered to the area.
So far 1,000 local families and displaced people with farming backgrounds have been given help to revitalize agricultural and livestock activities damaged by the war in Syria.
KSRelief is also providing veterinary care and supervision for farmers’ sheep in Qalaat Al-Madiq as part of its aid program.
